Gulfstream G800. World Speed Record
Gulfstream G800 Sets 800th Speed Record and Completes the Longest and Fastest Flight in Business Aviation History
Gulfstream Aerospace has announced two major milestones for its next-generation G800 business jet. The aircraft set the 800th city-pair speed record for the Gulfstream fleet before completing the longest and fastest flight ever performed in business aviation.
The G800 achieved its 800th city-pair speed record in June on a flight from Reykjavík, Iceland, to Savannah, Georgia, USA. The aircraft covered 5,505 km (2,973 nm) in 5 hours and 52 minutes at an average speed of Mach 0.91.
On June 28, the G800 completed another record-breaking flight, traveling from Melbourne, Australia, to Moline, Illinois, USA. The aircraft covered 15,377 km (8,303 nm) in 16 hours and 56 minutes at an average speed of Mach 0.85, setting the longest and fastest flight ever completed in business aviation.
Mark Burns, President of Gulfstream, commented:
“With every new aircraft program, Gulfstream continues to redefine what’s possible for our customers. Achieving our 800th city-pair speed record and completing the longest and fastest flight in business aviation history demonstrate the exceptional capabilities of our next-generation fleet and the outstanding performance of the G800.”
To date, Gulfstream aircraft have established a total of 815 city-pair speed records, including 15 records set by the G800 since it entered service in August 2025.
The G800 is designed for ultra-long-range operations, offering a range of 15,186 km (8,200 nm) at Mach 0.85 and 12,964 km (7,000 nm) at its high-speed cruise of Mach 0.90. The aircraft is also capable of flying 8,000 nautical miles (14,816 km) at Mach 0.87, while its maximum operating speed reaches Mach 0.935. These capabilities provide operators with exceptional mission flexibility while maintaining optimal fuel efficiency and operational reliability.
